EMBRACE CHANGE … Hello Ontario!

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year!

January of 2017, where did you come from?
This is a HUGE year for Greg and I filled with LOTS and lots of change. New year – so it’s a great time for it!

In the last month, we’ve made some big decisions and have some exciting things happening!!
I accepted a new job, we purchased a new car (used, but new to me!), we have a new home, AND… of course, with all this change I obviously am starting a new workout program too! #winninggggg!!!!

It’s always been our plan to move back to Ontario at some point. Originally when we moved out to BC (almost 6 years ago), we planned on being there for 2 years. And here we are, close to 6 years later and we’re finally transitioning to coming home!

On Monday, I’m starting a new job with a Natural Pharmaceuticals company that I could not be more stoked about. The beer industry was a ton of fun, but I am ready to get back to the natural health side of things!

The car… well, we purchased a nice shiny white Nissan Rogue.  I LOVE it!!! All the fixins… bluetooth, heated seats, back up cam, ANDDDD my fave… sunroof! When you spend as much time as I do in the car, these things are such a perk! I haven’t taken a pic yet, since it’s been bloody cold outside and she’s a little dirty.. but this is basically what it looks like 🙂

New home? Well.. I’m a little bit of a Gypsy for the next few weeks! I’m staying with my parents for the time being, back in the room I grew up in which is kind of fun! Obviously it would be more fun if my better half and my puppies were with me… but they’ll be here soon! Because my training for work is on the other side of Toronto, I’m also going to be crashing on my sisters couch for the next little bit to cut down on my commute time.

Once Greg and the pups get home, we’re all going to be moving in to my in-laws basement. They’ve got a beautiful home, and some extra space down there and are graciously letting us turn it into somewhat of a basement suite. We are so blessed to have families that are supporting us and giving us places to stay over this time of transition! My in-laws place will be our home for the next while anyway… until we can get the brewery up and running (more on that in another post!)

LASTLY – new workout!

OMG you guys… I need to do a whole post on this but for now I will tell you… CoreDeForce (Beachbody program) is amazing!!!! I’m only 3 days in and I am OBSESSED. I definitely had been slacking the last month with my workouts. I was only getting a few good ones in a week (if that!) and when I’m used to doing 5-6 good ones a week, that’s a huge drop off. I have done 3 of these workouts so far and I am SO sore, and I am loving the challenge. They’re completely different than the style of workouts we usually do, and they’re great for me to do while I wait for Greggie to get home to do more workouts with me!!

Anyway – that’s a small update for you of what’s been going on in our world!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year so far and crushing your goals!!!!
Remember: 21 days to form a habit, 90 days to make it a lifestyle !

Bodyweight legs workout

Hey guys!

HOLY CRAP, can you believe it’s already DECEMBER???? OMG.

I seriously have no idea where the time has gone… but it’s my fave time of year. I just love it! One thing I will say though, is if there’s ANY time of year where workouts are SO important (in my opinion) — it’s NOW. Most people spend a LOT of time during the month of December eating (and not always healthy stuff), and drinking… LOTS of drinking. Mulled wines, eggnog, fancy cocktails, hot cider… ALL delicious… all not so great for the bod after a full month.

SO… that said… it’s super important to try and keep up with your workouts. I am a huge advocate of enjoying the holidays to the fullest. I LOVE sweet treats, I LOVE all the fun cocktails and I love all the delicious holiday meals.

Anyway… I have a leg workout for you. It’s one I’ve posted on my instagram several times… and I’ve also included it in many of my challenges, but I’ve never done a blog post of it where I’ve broken it down for you. So – here goes.

This workout is awesome because you can do it with some weight if you want to, but it an absolutely be done bodyweight style, which means you can do it anywhere! (~NO EXCUSES~)

Hey guys!

So this post is a LOT overdue- but I definitely wanted to do a little mini recap of our most recent trip to Seattle!

I wanted to wait until the refresh of the blog was done before posting!

I wasn’t super keen to go anywhere… I was happy to have a nice little weekend in with the pups, kitties and Greg. But he found this RIDICULOUSLY adorable AirBnB and sucked me right in!!!  More on that in a sec.

MUTT MALAS has its own PAGE!!!!

Hey you guys,

I have been MIA for a little bit, it’s true… but I was waiting on my lovely web designer Hilary to complete the refresh of the overall blog, and of course, the Mutt Mala’s page!!! Thank you so much girl for doing such a beautiful job, as always!

It looks so good and I’m so excited for you guys to check it out. (Incase you missed the link above, it’s http://www.andreagnys.com/mutt-malas/!)

These last 6 months or so have been absolutely incredible and overwhelming at the same time. I can’t believe the support I have received on this passion project from friends, family, and complete strangers (that are now new friends!) all because they wanted to help those that can’t help themselves. It’s truly inspiring and I couldn’t be happier with the way the first 6 months of #MuttMalas has gone!

Most of this has gone to Tierra de Animales in Cancun, Mexico… with a small portion going to Lost Dog Foundation (which is based out of Virgina, but also focuses on rescuing dogs from Yucatan, Mexico. Over $2000 is pretty damn good for a little ‘hobby’ I started 6 months ago, in order to try and raise ‘a bit’ of extra money, in lieu of a 30th birthday bash this year!

That said, friends… It’s time to kick it up a notch. It’s Christmas time… ! And these animals deserve to have a wonderful Christmas. The more we can raise, the more TDA can rescue, share their page, and ultimately find homes for these wonderful creatures ! Can you help me raise $500 to send TDA before Christmas!?! That’s only 50 #muttmala bracelets (Byron has that many on his own… my best supporter!!) And if we get a couple necklaces in the mix, it’s even less, since with necklaces I donate $20 per!

Have a look at some of the amazing things that TDA is doing. This video is so wonderful because it shows what their sanctuary is all about. You’ll see they do not just have dogs and cats… they have all kinds of animals! And they currently look after over 400 animals on a daily basis —– so our donations are SO important.

Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for all of your support!

And please, please, PLEASE continue to share your malas when you get them if you’re able! I LOVE seeing your posts and it’s such a good way to get people talking!

A little bit of Mala love shared by some of my faves!

Thanks again for your support. What do you think of the page rebrand and the new page for Mutt Malas!?

Have an awesome Wednesday you guys!

Andrea (And all the animals of TDA!!)

Under Armour EXPLOSION. New items!!!

Happy Mondayyyy you guys. Holy smokes. It’s the last week of August/First week of September.

GUEST POST >> Essential Oils 101

So, I was going to attempt to do a post on Essential oils, until I realized I might as well just ask my cousin to do it for me. She’s fallen totally in love with natural health and has been learning like crazy over the last 6 months. Check it out!
